ISRAEL 2022: DAY 5.
Masada and En Gedi.
Masada is best known as Herod the Great’s palace, but I love it for “Methuselah,” a Judean date palm. These palms went extinct, but a seed found at Masada from the time of Christ was sprouted in 2005. The palms were…AND ARE AGAIN…a symbol of the Jewish people. Last year, the 1st crop of dates were harvested. Imagine waiting 2000 years for the return of something so culturally and ethnically identifying. Or, imagine waiting for someone.
“Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains” (James 5:7).
