ISRAEL: DAY 11

Mt. Carmel, Mediterranean, Jerusalem

The surreal knowledge of my feet sinking into the shells and pebbles of the Mediterranean Sea coastline is powerful. Waves splash over the rocks and the breeze sweeps across my face. No wonder Herod the Great built a palace at Caesarea Maritima; the view is stunning. Still, what was it for? The palace is gone…reduced to rubble at the hands of the ceaseless winds and waves. Better to build that which will never perish…a love of God and a pure heart that partakes in God’s holiness.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).
